Tourism was one of the key factor that caused the change into developed country. Due to inherit, most the culture was influenced by the British colonial.Sometimes the current culture of Hong Kong would be described as " East meets West" when it was also orginated as a China country where most of the population was made of Chinese, traditional called the Han Chinese. Many tourists flew in and caused a highest growth in tourism between 1983 to 1994.

Due to the growth, the economic has also blossom. In 1999,the GDP of Hong Kong was US$128 billion. Visitor arrivals grew from around 6 million in 1989 to a peak of 11.7 million in 1996,thus registering a 95% growth in a span of just seven years
There will definitely be an interaction between the local and the tourist. It can come in good influence or a bad influence changes upon the interaction. Culture exchange is one of the good influence where tourist would share with the locals their culture.

Due to the demand and growth of tourism in Hong Kong, the whole Hong Kong is being commodify to meet the growth of tourism. Like for example, when I thought of Hong Kong, I would image them as a "Shopping and Food Paradise". This has caused them to lose lose their culture somehow but it might be a good or bad reasons change that brought by the growth of tourism.To indigenous group like Han Chinese, it could be a good thing or may be a bad thing when these action can direct impact to these people when these indigenous in Hong Kong are hard to be seemed now.

Definitely, more pollution would be seemed due to the growth of tourism when tourist litter at the attraction they visit.More airplane flying in mean more air pollution.

Religion and culture of Hong Kong are being preserved. However, due to the growth of tourism,a lot of changes was made to suit the tourist. Only things that attracts tourist are kept.
